Awhile back, we acquired a Hannah Montana sweatshirt. I believe someone passed it to us. Or maybe we picked it up at the Give and Take. I’m not sure anymore.
Because it was several sizes too large for Abby, Scott started teasing Jonah, saying he knew how much Jonah wanted to wear it because of his secret crush on Miss Montana. Jonah about had a conniption fit right there. Which of course means that Scott has continued to occasionally tease Jonah ever since. When we are in the store, if Scott sees a Hannah Montana video, or t-shirt, or poster, he’ll make a big deal about wanting to buy it for Jonah’s next gift.
Well, this evening, Scott told Jonah that he realized as Jonah was growing older that he was probably growing out of this Hannah Montana stage, which is why he was going to start buying Taylor Swift items for Jonah instead.
Jonah, after rising very much to the bait, informed Scott that he needed to start teasing Abby about boys. Nope. No way. Scott informed Abby that she was never allowed to date boys. Never.
Laughing, I asked Abby if she was okay with her daddy never letting her date boys.
She emphatically answered with a “Yes!”
Warmed her daddy’s heart, she did.
He praised her for her response, then asked her if she would always be her daddy’s girl.
“Yep.” She answered.
Wrapped around his finger. That’s all I’m sayin.
