We tried this recipe last week, altered from this recipe: here, and really enjoyed it. All measurements for seasonings are estimated and “to taste”. Enjoy!
Apple Beef Soup
2 lbs beef stew meat
4 medium potatoes, diced
4 whole carrots, peeled and sliced into medallions
4 turnips, peeled and sliced into medalions
1 medium sweet onion, diced
20 oz. apple cider (or hard cider)
8 oz water
4-5 bay leaves
2 TBS Worchestershire Sauce
1 TBS Montreal Steak Seasoning
1-2 TBS Sea Salt
1 tsp Seasoning Salt
2 TBS minced garlic. (I used fresh garlic. Garlic powder might work better in the crock pot.)
Add all ingredients to crock pot and cook on high for two hours, then low for 6-8 hours.
Serve with fresh, warm bread.
